A: As a low-income New Yorker, there are a few resources you can explore to find legal help for your H1B transfer paperwork. One option is to reach out to nonprofit organizations that provide free or low-cost legal assistance for immigration matters. Organizations like the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and Legal Aid Society often offer consultations and can help guide you through the process.

Another option is to check if there are any local law schools with immigration clinics. Law students, under the supervision of experienced attorneys, often provide free services to individuals who need help with immigration paperwork. This can be a good way to get professional legal advice without the high costs.

You could also consider searching for pro bono immigration attorneys who take on cases for free or at reduced rates. Websites like Justia or the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) can help you find qualified lawyers who might be willing to assist. Make sure to explain your situation clearly, as some attorneys may be more open to helping if they know you have limited means.
