Hello, I signed a settlement agreement in November of 2023 and my attorney is still holding the money. They keep claiming that the settlement administrator has to clear any liens with care oregon (my health insurance). This was taking so long that I called them myself and as it turns out...they have no liens on me! So I told this to my attorney and they said it doesn't matter they still have to do it..but they aren't. I asked for the settlement administrators contact info so i could send them documentation that states i have no lien but they refuse to give it to me. They just keep saying I do not have contact info for you for lien resolution through settlement administrator. There are thousands of clients throughout the nation waiting for lien resolution through the Settlement Administrator. You will have to wait for the lien resolution process. It has been nearly a year now with no progress. Is this normal? What can I do?

A: An Oregon attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a month. Your attorney on the case would know best about what could be holding things up, and what entities need to give clearance. But some lien verifications can take a long time to settle, especially if they involve public health entities. Good luck
