Clarkston, GA asked in Medical Malpractice and Wrongful Death for Georgia

Q: CT scan says Diffuse cerebral edema, probably due to a combination of traumatic brain injury & hypoxic/ischemic injury??

What does this mean or what is the cause

A: An attorney would need to review the records to answer this question, but it sounds like there is brain swelling either from a traumatic brain injury (fall, accident, etc.) or a lack of oxygen to the brain, which can have many causes. I recommend contacting a medical malpractice/wrongful death attorney in your area.

A: This is a medical question that a health care professional should answer. Based on the given facts, that even non-medical professionals could glean, it looks like swelling (edema) caused by impact injury or oxygen deprivation. A doctor could explain things more meaningfully, with the benefit of the radiologist's report and accompanying notes. Good luck
