Port Huron, MI asked in Medical Malpractice for Michigan

Q: I was given Versed befor I signed consent forms for surgery.I was not combative nor over-anxious. No proof, any justice?

midazolam aka Versed (anti-anxiety, causes amnesia) The nurse asked me for my glasses.. I can't see without them, not more than a foot in front of me. I mildly argued it wasn't time to go to the OR so I was keeping them until then. I did ask if I could leave them on until the OR so I could see what the room looked like and she replied quite sharply that she wouldn't let her nurses be responsible if they were lost or damaged. I said ok and went back to listening to the guy with the consent forms. A few minutes later I felt someone mess with my right hand IV (had two, one in each hand. consent guy was on my left) I looked over and it was her..she said something about Versed.. I said no, not until OR. She backed away grinning and said something with a sarcastic tone. My memories are vague and scarce after that. also, probably not relevant but I was in the OR for 90 minutes before they put me under anesthesia. My records say pre-op to OR and then anesthesia with the 90 unaccounted for

A: A Michigan attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a month. I'm sorry for your stressful experience. In terms of justice you ask about, one option is to reach out to Michigan law firms to discuss. It sounds like a difficult case that some firms could be reluctant to consider because the matter could involve conflicting testimony - determining that fully would require holding depositions. You could reach out to local firms to try to set up a free initial consult. That could better answer your question. I hope you are okay. Good luck
