Asked in Landlord - Tenant for Missouri

Q: What are proper laws and procedures before landlord can file for relief from the courts for evicting me

1week ago I received a Court hearing Notice for Eviction taped to my door. 2 days before this notice my landlord put a refurbished old envelope on my door with 4 words on the outside of the envelope, "CALL ME EVICTION COMING" I googled Mo. Eviction Laws, and it states landlord must notify me to vacate, for pass owed rent, in writing??? It says he must follow proper procedure before he can file for relief from the courts for evicting me? My court hearing is in 2 days. This does not give me any time to try to settle with him, and even worse this gives me no time to find anywhere to move to. What can I do? What are proper procedure in Missouri for Eviction ?
