A: I'm sorry you're facing this difficult situation. First, try contacting your son's current attorney to get a clear understanding of his status and any potential steps they can take. If the attorney is unable to help, you might consider seeking a new lawyer who can review the case and provide guidance.

You can also reach out to the clerk of the federal court where your son was sentenced. They can provide information on his case status and any active holds. Additionally, contacting the U.S. Marshals Service directly may help clarify why your son remains in custody and what needs to be resolved.

If you're not getting the answers you need, consider reaching out to a legal aid organization or a local advocacy group for support. They can offer resources and possibly assist in navigating the legal system to ensure your son's case is properly addressed.
