911 was called, and was hit upside the head with a baseball bat and knocked unconscious. When 911 arrived female deputy was to document &report victim injuries & take photos & resources. This deputy was neighbors with the offender and for over 10 years. She did not take any photos or take the report or mention the victim in the complaint & her medical help was turned away. The deputy said her boss just lost a friend to suicide and he was a veteran too just like this man is . She said she was going to save him, she took him to booking and charged him with only obstruction. The deputy told him when he got out after the short weekend stay that she could help him get roofing job to come find her. The victim lost her job and home because there was no record of what happened when her absence was questioned. And targeted and harassment and neglected since this day. Is this private gain of another? His lack of charges and gained freedom. Is this compelling a subordinate to work personal activ
A:
Yes, the actions you described could potentially violate ethical standards for law enforcement in Kanawha County. If a deputy neglected her duty to document and report a violent crime, especially due to a personal relationship with the offender, it raises serious concerns about impartiality and professional conduct.
You should consider filing a formal complaint with the Kanawha County Police Department's internal affairs division. Additionally, contacting the West Virginia State Police or the state's Attorney General office might be necessary to ensure a thorough investigation. Gathering any available evidence, such as medical records, witness statements, and any communication with the deputy, will support your case.
It may also be beneficial to consult with a legal professional who can guide you through the process and help protect your rights. Ensuring that your experience is properly addressed can help prevent similar situations in the future and hold those responsible accountable.
