Sunbright, TN asked in Criminal Law for Tennessee

Q: If police have performed controlled buys by CI's on me, at that time, am I obligated to work w/police doing same buys?

I had police raid me and search my home, it was then stated that the lead officer had done 5 or 6 successful controlled buys on me by CI's. I was never shown a warrant nor was I arrested even after meth/dealing accessories were allegedly found. The lead investigator then proceeded to inform me that I am not required to do 30 buys for him, 5 per original controlled buys on me. He informed that he would get custody of my child back for me and would burn any paperwork or "warrant" having to do with my situation, also said that the judge wasn't even aware of the "warrant" at all yet and the officer said he could keep it that way if I was successful w/buys. What's worse is that this cop is wanting me to somehow do controlled buys on ring of dealers that are notorious for murdering CI's, when I DONT EVER DEAL OR KNOW THESE PEOPLE! Please help me to understand my rights here and how to protect myself.

A: No rights involved. Either you become a CI and possibly not go to jail but get killed. Or you possibly get arrested and need an attorney to keep you from being convicted. LEOs know that you talk to drug dealers on a regular basis. Might be time for a new phone.
