Q: Where do my sister and I stand when my step dad is my dad and my 2ed cousin
My father died June 2024, the man that found my dad is a 2nd cousin to him. The man failed or didn’t want to contact my sister or I nor any other family members for 2weeks, nor did the police or corners office. One this gentleman stated to the police and corner that he was the only living kin to my dad, and other lies in between, Durning that time he had moved into my mother and fathers home sold or threw away all there property in the home and registered my dads truck. Now I am only a step daughter but, my mom who has passed away and my step dad they were 1st cousins, in turn he was my step dad as well as my 2ed cousin. This gentleman said my dad left a will but he was not the type to do that. This will he had come forth with is not signed not notarized not even completely filled out. But has been able to take ownership in all my parents assets. I have filed in probate court, and pushing what I find to help. But where do we stand in this case will we have grounds to keep or let go.
