Q: Is my live in Nanny allowed to tell people about things that she hears in our house that has now led to serious issues?
I live in the state of Kansas, and my wife and I hired her cousin to Nanny for our newborn. She also moved to our area from out of town, so she was living with us full-time while she was saving money and looking into places of her own to live. It is also important to state that we did not have a formal contract or agreement in place, but she publicly told people (and still is telling people to this day) that she was our Nanny. She lived with us from August 2023 until March of 2024 when she abruptly moved out of our house claiming that she was scared to live in our home any longer because my wife told her about a conditional threat that I said that never amounted into anything. Now 4 months later, people that she has told that threat to have orchestrated a Temporary Restraining Order against me preventing me to be around my stepson. I can explain the whole story in complete detail, but doesn't she have to respect our privacy and not share intimate conversations in our home with others?
