Ligonier, IN asked in Landlord - Tenant for Indiana

Q: What rights do I have if I haven't paid my rent due cockroach infestation?

I haven't paid my rent the past few months plus rent was going to go up $100 more when renewing the lease. I didn't make alot of money when I first got the apartment so I had my husband living there and not on the lease. We had rent paid, and paid for the light bill on time but then I got pregnant and my husband said this isn't a healthy environment for you as you are pregnant nor when the baby comes home from the hospital. We since been moving out slowly but the cockroachs are still there since we first moved in. I did infact talked to the property manager and all she said that they can only provide one free pest treatment for year, And they were not gonna do the rest sessions since the bill will be so high. Another tip she said that I can use boric acid and mix it with coffee grounds or peanut butter and that seems to help. I have my court date in a three days and I'm worried and stressed out about it. Please help me out, I would appreciate any help I can get. I live in indiana.
