Q: Am I able to successfully contest an expired registration ticket if I renewed online after expiration date?
My registration expired 9/30 & in Illinois, we have 30 days without penalty to renew again., but I did not renew online until November 10. I was waiting for my sticker to come in the mail, when my parked car was ticketed for the registration. I received the sticker in the mail the next day & affixed it to my plate. Am I able to contest the ticket as the receipt of my registration renewal is valid registration? Should I contest in person or is online ok?
