Q: If initial payment for repairs for a car wreck has been sent without use of an attorney can I still hire an attorney?
Will an Attorney accept a case for a car wreck where the insurance company has already accepted 100% liability and has paid out a check for repairs on the property damage, but the rest is at a standstill? The insurance adjuster has done some sketchy things and is delaying the settlement hoping to run out the statue time by doing the following; not responding to calls or emails, making settlement offers then changing and lessening the amount of the offer, then refusing to pay the sufficient settlement amounts to cover the injury, medical, and pain and suffering. Adjuster asking the repair shop to not do ⅓ of the part replacements and repairs and asking for repayment for the repairs they had the shop remove from the original estimate the same day the check was deposited.
A: I believe depending on the complexity of the case and remaining amount still owed, an attorney may agree to take on your case. There would be several questions that would be need to be answered before an attorney would agree to take on your case. I would recommend that you book a consultation with an attorney to better assist you with your legal matter.
