Q: I was referred to an employment scam by an employment agency. The people running the scam recieved all my information.
When i brought it to their attention that I thought it was a scam, they reassured me that it wasn't. I had already stopped communicating with the scam employer but unfortunately they already captured pictures of my drivers license and social security card. The only reason I wasn't on alert was that I trusted the employment agency to screen the employers they work with. I am overwhelmed with stress right now. I have no idea what the future is going to hold. I would like to know if the employment agency is liable at all. They are a very big company and should have a screening process. Thank you.
