Q: I am in a different state and am desperate to help my aunt because of my neglectful cousin but I am unfamiliar with NM
I have family in NM, I live in FL and my cousin is refusing to get a job to help my aunt. My aunt is elderly and very ill and a few years ago they were evicted from their apartment and have been homeless for around 4 years now. My other cousin, my aunts son, does work but seldom holds a job. I also have reason to suspect he is purchasing stolen vehicles. My female cousin swears up and down her social media makes her lots of money, it doesn’t. Point is around 3-4 months ago they were kicked out of the motel they were staying at and are now living in cars near a park. My concern is more so for my aunt. I’m furious with my cousin. They have been urinating and defecating in the park. Which I have now found out is near a school. They are both sick and my cousin refuses to take my aunt to the doctor. I called APS and all they did was sent volunteers that have no legal authority. I just want to know what I can do against my cousin while living in another state to help my aunt.
