Q: I live in the Hailey area and needing some fair and affordable legal advice. Would like to build a relationship w/
I need to redo my Will as well as get legal advice on the below subject. In 2013 I purchase a property here in Hailey soley. I improved it enormously since I am a DIYer. I am not rich by any means but fair and transparent. I retired in 2018 and purchased a second project house. I need about 65k to finish it but no income no loan so my girlfriend who had since moved in with me was still working agreed to take out the loan which I was then somewhat forced to QuitClaim this property on as collateral and she made the payments for a few years until I sold that property(I was the sole owner) and paid off her loan. Now in stressful times she claims half the equity in my primary home? My thinking is that from 2013 to July 21st 2021 this was my money and my equity and her equity stake begins the day I signed those papers July 21 of 2021 to present day and not from day 1 when I purchased this property to July of 2021. Would love to hear responses on this as well as find a trusted lawyer for me
