Q: Can I use an emergency exit in a non emergency?
Hello, I'm a student in michigan who's going to have to do an assignment for sociology on doing something that is against accepted social norms. I have the idea of using the emergency exit in the classroom in a non emergency. This door has an audible alarm attached to it. Is there any state law that could result in a criminal prosecution against me for doing so?
A: There may be a local law against it, but even if not, since there is an alarm on it you would at least be committing the illegal act of "Disturbing the Peace".
