Seattle, WA asked in Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice for Oregon

Q: What are the steps I need to take after I filled out a tort claim through OHSU risk management?

I have filed nothing through the courts and I want accountability as my life has been turned upside down. I’ve suffered long and hard and it’s permanent damage CRPS type 2 and brachial plexus permanently damaged due to TOS surgery gone wrong and 2 other surgeries that didn’t help anything. It’s unfixable and I was told I would lose full function of my left arm.

A: An Oregon attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for a month. For this question, it might be best to try to arrange a free initial consult with a local attorney. Although that doesn't directly answer your question about what steps to take, any attorney is probably going to want to know more about the claim and its timeline, what is contained in your paperwork, the facility's position on the claim - as well as other important factors that would best be addressed by Oregon attorneys (statute of limitations, claims process, Oregon laws regarding legal action based on the type of facility, medical providers involved, etc.). I'm sorry for your ordeal but getting meaningful guidance for something like this could be beyond the scope of quick general responses on public forums. I hope you are able to maintain full function of your arm. Good luck
