Q: Options for speeding ticket reduction in Illinois with past record
I recently received a ticket in Illinois for driving 25 mph over the speed limit. I have a relatively clean record, although I had a fender bender about 4 years ago and a couple of tickets in 2017. I am considering my options for possibly getting the charges dropped or having the fines reduced, but I do not plan to hire an attorney. How might my past record affect my chances of obtaining a plea bargain or a reduced fee?

A: Probably well offer you court supervision. It isn’t a conviction so there’s no point, but it does show up on your record that the police have access to, but not the general public.
A: It is unlikely to affect anything. Ask for court supervision. If successfully completed, that ticket will not be counted as part of 3 that could result in license being suspended.
