Stockbridge, GA asked in Legal Malpractice and Criminal Law for Georgia

Q: How can I fire my current attorney for inadequate representation in a Georgia murder trial and recover my money?

I am going to trial in about a month in Georgia for a murder charge. My attorney has done almost no work on my case. She has only briefly spoken to me three times in the past year, and last week she presented a plea deal, insisting I would likely lose at trial. I am innocent, and I believe we could prove this if she put in the necessary effort, but she hasn't negotiated any reasonable plea bargains and barely consults with me. I feel she is working against me, almost siding with the prosecution, and she has an attitude when we speak. I haven't sought alternative legal advice yet. I want to fire her and know how I can recover my money and whom to contact about this.
