Port Saint Lucie, FL asked in Adoption for Florida

Q: What is the amount of time you have to file a TPR appeal??? My sister in law was TPR'd Dec 2013, I'm trying to adopt

The kids have been in state care for almost 2 yrs and she keeps getting extensions. I have an approved adoption home study but CHS say's they can't place until her appeal is exhausted. In the mean while both kids have been sexually abused ( I have the reports) and the atty I retained keeps raising his retainer and threatens to withdraw if I can't continually pay more. It's costing me and my husband almost 1500. per month to keep him on

A: A notice of appeal has to be file within 30 days. It is up to the appellate court to grant extensions. If the appellate court reverses the trial court, then any adoption as a result would have to be vacated.
