Asked in Business Law for Florida

Q: I started a magazine with another person who agreed to just doing the advertising sales while I did everything else. She

hasn't been doing anything with the magazine for the last two issues, and actually texted me that I could have the business, business name and all of the profits if I let her run a free full pg ad for a company. I agreed, ran the ad, and cancelled DBA Name and reinstated it just under my name, which is what the Sec of State told me to do. Now, even though she is not doing anything w/ mag, says she doesn't want me to do business using the name we were using. Says she still "owns" the name. I am wondering what I should do? She says she is talking to a lawyer this week. I have all the transcripts of her text messages saved on a drive and printed out.

A: You need to actually go see an attorney about this for a full discussion of the issues and negotiating a resolution.
