Q: If a gov worker negligently caused my car accident, are they protected by sovereign immunity as well as their employer?

A: The simple answer is no. Under Florida law the driver of the vehicle is liable for damages caused and also the owner of the vehicle is also liable.

I suggest that you speak with a personal injury attorney in your area regarding the case. Cases where the government, whether state or federal or sometimes even a local government is treated a little different and requires some additional steps.
