Q: Am I responsible for water draining downhill from my bkyard to his bkyard when I water my lawn? More below:
My house is at the top of an incline, and his is at the bottom of it. He has now filed a police report against me and plans to file with the Environmental Protection Agency. I do not feel that I am over watering my yard. I am nearly 70 y/o, retired, and only on SS income. Any suggestions or advice for me in this matter and neighbor dispute? Thanks so much Jacquelyn H

Use less water and don't apply until the point that water starts draining onto your neighbor's yard. Tell your neighbor you'll take measures to prevent water draining into his yard. Tell him you'll work with him and ask him to let you know if you reach the point of water running into his yard when you water. Don't let this small matter turn into a war. Good luck
