A: Civil rights cases are too complex for most attorneys. You should retain the services of an experienced civil rights lawyer in or near the county where your case is pending or where it needs to be filed. Because of the relatively low rate of success and limited damages available, you should expect to pay a relatively high hourly rate and initial retainer and should not expect an experienced attorney to accept such a case on a contingency fee.

Be aware that there are a lot of frivolous civil rights cases filed pro se by litigants not represented by an attorney. They are almost universally unsuccessful and waste a lot of judicial time and resources. To have any reasonable expectation of success, it is vital to have an experienced civil rights attorney onboard.

A: It might be difficult for attorneys here to respond with offers of representation. The forum isn't set up like an attorney referral service - only Q & A. In addition to your own searches, there is a tab above (Find a Lawyer). Also, local and state bar associations usually have attorney referral sections. Those resources are outside this forum, and any arrangements made are between you and attorneys you reach out to. Good luck
