North East, PA asked in Adoption and Family Law for Pennsylvania

Q: I have full custody of my grandchildren .The mother recently passed away . How can I Adopt them, a yr sense father seen

Parents allowed supervised visit . If children want to see them. Mother was killed on her way to visit children. Father hasn’t seen children over a year now. He provides no financial help at all . Children are terrified of him . Hes very abusive towards women and the children. But has parental rights unwilling to let go of because it’s a control issue having over them or others . I’d love to adopt but unsure the best way cuz he will threaten things trying to control me and really scare the children. I know I can’t do this without legal help on my side because it will get bad when he’s notified of me trying to adopt them . I’m not scared but the children are . I dnt qualify for financial support programs and the children don’t qualify for any death benefits. And the father has no interest in trying to provide anything.. he never has even when my daughter their mother was alive. He abused her badly. She’s had pfa’s against him in the past but that didn’t stop him . Please help me adopt
