Florissant, MO asked in Child Custody, Criminal Law and Family Law for Missouri

Q: In 2021 I was detained in a mental facility based on false accusations of child abuse, no prior history what can I do?

There was no history of mental illness or prior abuse allegations, my adoptive parent from who I am estranged , went to falsify a report and managed to have me detained without them looking into anything , my child ran away and was being persuaded to go along with the story for promises of being able to do what she wanted to do. I was told by 2 sherriffs that came to serve me that I had to go involuntarily and they barged into my house. Having never ever gone through this before I tried advocating for myself but it fell upon deaf ears. I was then taken to St. Mary's mental hospital where I constantly told them I didn't belong there and the situation at hand, they would go on to tell me the more I stated I didn't belong there that I looked guilty so I'd better stop advocating for myself as I was making it worse. I was placed on a 96 hour hold but ended up being there 2 days extra because of the weekend which they said didn't count. They tried to find something on me but nothing, smh.
