Jackson, TN asked in Medical Malpractice for Tennessee

Q: I have POA over my mother. Just battled cancer for the 3rd time. She has lympdema in her head neck chest and arm.

Extremely fragile patient. The therapist who is licensed in PT-CLT-LANA is a blessing to her the past few years. She's moving away and the Thearpy Center is in the process to train a therapist who graduated school in May 2023 for occupational therapy with no training of anything related to manual lymph draining. Now they want her new primary care doctor to write out a prescription for occupational therapy instead of lympdema thearpy cause that is what the future new therapist title is. Something seems wrong with this to me. She already worked on my mother once but did the manual massage backwards and she was messed up for awhile. Can thearpy practices get away with inexperienced therapist working on high risk patients? Did I mention she just graduated less than a year ago.
