Pompano Beach, FL asked in Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: Hello I am a tenant and currently needing help with to who I make payments to with no legal documents?

My former landlord has passed away and now the property is being transferred over to his daughters I'm afraid to pay my rent because I have no legal documents stating any of what I am told. I have the money put into an escrow account put aside for when I have legal documentation stating that they have taken over my unit. Currently the lady is telling me that I need to pay rent and that I can't stay here for free I'm explaining to her I understand she wants me to pay the rent but I have no documentation of who she is nor have I ever met this woman she lives in Canada and I live in Florida. Please if you can help I need to know what I should do? She is telling me if we don't pay the rent she's going to have to sell the unit I understand that but how can you sell the unit that you don't have a Deed too if you're telling me that you can't even give me a lease at this time? What am I to say to this current landlord? Again I don't want to move I've been here for over 10 years.
