Q: My boyfriend is illegal. If he joins the military will he be legalized? Is there another way to legalize him?
A: A great deal of this answer depends on how your boyfriend entered the country. Did he enter without inspection? His education level may also matter and whether he's received a petition prior to April 30, 2001. If you are a Citizen, you could marry him, and petition him, as well. However, I'm not aware of any programs by the military that would cure inadmissibility. However, it may be possible to obtain a waiver of his status, if he were willing to leave the country.
