A: I assume from your question that the accountant performed services, and sent you a bill asking for one lump sum. Your request for a breakdown is reasonable. It's like going to a supermarket and having the cashier tell you what the total is but refuses to give you the tape showing each item you purchased and the cost of that item. I suggest that you send a letter to the accountant requesting an itemized bill. You can say in your letter that you do not feel comfortable paying for something without knowing what you are paying for. Be sure to keep a copy of your letter.
