Q: On 3/12/11 my daughter and I slipped and fell on ice leaving a store at a strip mall, I have been dealing with their
Insurance company myself and have only gotten so far as making my statement. My 2 year old will have a scar on her face from the fall. Should I get a lawyer?
A:
Yes, you should hire an attorney. It is unfortunate that you provided a statement. Hopefully, the adjustor did not trick you into saying something that may damage your case. The insurance industry spends millions of dollars training their employees on how to frame questions in a manner where the answer will look good for their insured.
A scar on a face is very significant. You should definately hire an attorney. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.
A: attorney padove is absolutely correct. you really need to consult with an injury lawyer and giving statements to the insurance company is typically a bad idea. illinois has very strict laws re slip and falls on snow and ice re whether it was a natural accumulation or not. good luck!
