A: personal injury settlements, whether puerto rico, illinois or indiana, vary on the time it takes to collect the settlement proceeds. if there is a minor involved or a wrongful death estate, there has to be court approval. if there are medical liens or medicare liens for medical bills that were paid then those have to be resolved. if medicare is involved it could take many months as the government is difficult to get answers from. the short answer is that it depends but you can probably count on your lawyer to do what needs to be done as he isn't getting paid until you do.
