A: That depends on several factors, including whether this was your first DWI, whether there was an accident involved, what your BAC (blood alcohol concentration) was, and whether you are eligible for a plea to a reduced charge, among other factors. If this is your first DWI, there was no accident, your BAC was not more than 0.14%, then you should be eligible for a reduced charge to DWAI. In that scenario, the case could be resolved within a matter of weeks. However, conversely, if there was an accident, this was not your first DWI, or if your BAC was above a 0.15%, the likelihood is that your case will last significantly longer, and could end up being transferred to County Court on a DWI felony charge.
