Las Vegas, NV asked in Personal Injury for Nevada

Q: Do I need a personal injury lawyer I don't want to close the case, still in great pain and haven't signed paper

I had Botox shots to relieve Pain I had in my neck from a fall, which I was told was whiplash. After a few shots he hit a nerve that lead to great pain and my right shoulder is lower than my left and I am still in pain, neck, shoulder & arm. I waited about 6 months to contact a lawyer because I was told by 3 doctors that the shoulder should come back after about 3 months. We went through depos with 2 doctors my son, granddaughter who was with me as I was given shots, my husband and we found a expert witness in another State. this injury happened in 2008 and when my lawyer was giving the depo to the doctor who's PA gave the shots, my lawyer who is not a personal injury lawyer but a lawyer my GP Dr sent me to, took me out of the room and asked me some questions about my doctor who sent me to him. He then went back into the depo but told me that I wasn't needed and then 3 weeks later he called and said he didn't think we could win the case. Lawyer got his fees only. wants me to sign paper

A: the lawyer works for his client, not the other way around. you always have the right to terminate your current lawyer and hire another if you can find one. with that said, it is difficult for a new lawyer on a case to take over after another has been in it for a long time. when you hired your initial lawyer, in part you were hiring him/her for advice. you ought to sit down with your lawyer and have a heart to heart talk. good luck.
