Q: I am wondering, how long do I have to wait until I get my ssi packpay after my final interview...
My final interview was on the 17th of this month, I was told I will get my monthly amount on the first, I am curious how long do I have to wait until I get my award letter and my backpay
A: If you are talking about Social Security Disability, then the back benefits depends upon the date you are designated to be disabled. Generally your benefits cannot start until five (5) months after the date you are declared disabled. Also, your benefits cannot go back any further than one year prior to your dare of application. If you have been approved and you are entitled to back benefits, then you can expect the back benefits within 30-60 days of approval.
