Q: Should I hire a lawyer if another attorney is attempting to take me to small claims court for monies due?
Hired an attorney to fill help fill out paperwork and file a petition throug the court for parental rights. After months of nothing being done, i kept on getting billed for hours that the attorney supposedly kept working. Emails were sent back and forth as i was letting her know I no longer needed her serices. She is now stating that I owe her over $9000. We came to an agreement that I would pay her 3 payments of $125 and then we would come to a settlement. 3 payments of $125 have been made and she refuses to come to a settlement and continues to ask for bank statements and paystubs. What can I do about this case?
