A: Most definitely. In Alabama, if an individual who is 16 or older has sex with an individual who is less than 16, this is statutory rape. In this instance, one would only have to contact either the sheriff's department, DHR, or even the District Attorney's office in the county which you reside. These types of cases are then investigated and prosecuted by the State of Alabama. Should you require any representation to defend against this type of a charge, please feel free to give me a call. I have handled hundreds of cases such as these all over the State of Alabama, and would be more than happy to discuss your legal options with you.
