Q: I have a DUI case in Florida, and did not start the probatory requirements and move back to Puerto Rico.
My license is suspended for 1 year. Am I a fugitive?
A: If you do nothing regarding what you were supposed to do, a warrant for your arrest will be issued for violation of probation. You will be arrested and held without bond until the sentencing judge can get around to seeing you for an arraignment, and then longer in jail until you get a private attorney to motion to the court and have a hearing on setting a bond. Then your probation will most likely be revoked and you will be sentenced to time served. But this is all just an educated guess.
