Dodge City, KS asked in Appeals / Appellate Law for Kansas

Q: I need a lawyer to handle a drug offender registration case

My fiancé was sentenced to ten years in 2012 for failure to register as a drug offender for two months. While incarcerated, he has received a letter from the KBI informing him that he doesn't have to register any longer because of the year he caught his offense. What do we need to do now to motion the courts about this info? He is doing time for not registering, but he doesn't have to anymore.
