Q: I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY WAY THAT I CAN SAVE MY HOME. I ONLY HAVE UNTIL THE 15TH OF MARCH 2015.
FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAVE CALLED THE CONTROLLERS OFFICE AND ASSESSORS OFFICE ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO SET UP ANY KIND OF PAYMENT PLAN. I HAVE TRIED TO QUALIFY FOR A PERSONAL LOAN, DID NOT QUALIFY. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN AND HAVE 2 DISABLED SIBLINGS IN THE HOME. WHAT CAN I DO?

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Am I correct to understand you are behind in payment of your property taxes and that the County Tax Collector will be auctioning your property at the tax sale? If so, in order to prevent the tax sale you will have to pay the past due tax (and interest, penalties) in one lump sum. Contact a mortgage broker to see if you can borrow against the property's equity or set up a reverse mortgage. Be sure to consult your own attorney to protect your legal rights.
