Q: Can a retired doctor be sued?
A: Yes. As in all medical malpractice cases, the evidence is mostly in the hospital, physician and medical provider records. Just because the doctor who you believe may have acted below the standard of care that resulted in your injuries has retired, does not mean that he/she is protected from a lawsuit, assuming the statute of limitations or statute of repose have not passed.
