Santa Cruz, CA asked in Traffic Tickets for California

Q: Leaving car in parking lot overnight?

I locked the keys in my car. They are still in the ignition in a parking lot in front of a sign that said "2 hour parking limit". I am going in the morning with AAA to get my keys out. Will I get towed/ticketed/etc for doing this even though I really had no other choice?

You need to read the time limits carefully. If there is no exception for cars parked overnight, you are running the risk of receiving citation or being towed. If the parking facility has a phone line, trying calling and explaining your situation. Better yet, see if the auto club can help you retrieve your car ASAP.
