Q: Do I need a medical malpractice lawyer?
If i was pregnant 2 years ago and went to emergency because I started bleeding horribly and they only checked my blood and sent me home to come back in 3 days for an appointment and when I come back I find out out I wasn't even in their system for an appointment but they ran test and saw my hormone levels skyrocket higher and sent me back home until 3 days later for another appointment and at that point an obgyn took my blood and told me that with my hcg levels they should have gave me an ultrasound and when she did she found out I have an ectopic pregnancy and that i needed an emergency surgery and at that point I could have died and they couldn't save my tube because it was too late. Now I have one blocked one left. Can I sue for negligence?
A: In your state, a medical malpractice action for injury must be brought within one year from the date the claimant discovered the negligent act, but no more than three years from the date of injury. It appears your time to look into a possible case has expired. I do not think you would have had a viable medical malpractice case in any event. You might want to contact a medical malpractice lawyer in your area for a free consultation nevertheless.
