You must be asking how long a bank has to foreclose on its mortgage. The lien would have been perfected when the mortgage was enrolled in the land records for the county in which the property is located which was probably long before you filed your bankruptcy.
In our state, the statute of limitations to foreclose does not start running until the final payment date on the mortgage which with a home mortgage is usually many years in the future. Then the mortgage company would have 6 years from the date the final payment was due. You need to check with a California attorney to find out when the statute will run there.
