Q: Difference in opinion of my vehicles worth. Claimant's insurance carrier is shorting me $1,000.00. What is my recourse?
Other party did not yield right of way and pulled into the path of my vehicle. I broad sided her. It totaled my 1994 Chev Silverado PU. The value of my truck was $3,000 before the loss. The insurance company wants to settle for $2,000.00. Like kind replacement vehicles are higher than the $3,000.00. What is my recourse? Are they obligated to replace my vehicle with like kind?
A: Has the insurance company assumed 100% liability? That may be the reason the are offering you less.
