It is impossible to predict his chances without knowing what the prosecutor based the charge upon. Apparently, it was not your complaint. So what evidence do they have against him? If the incident is caught on camera, and he assaulted you, his chances are near zero. If a relative who dislikes him for some known reason is the one making the allegation, his chances are pretty good. There are about a thousand scenarios in between.
You can talk to the prosecutor, but it may not help. You should be very careful anytime you talk to police or prosecutors. Anything you say may be used against him, and potentially against you too, if they believe you are lying to them.
