Q: if someone took a plea deal for a robbery 1st had insufficient counsel what can be done to get his case back in court

my boyfriend was charged with robbery 1 and he had public defender that only came to see him maybe 3 times total and that wasn't even until he was locked up for 10 months. he took a plea deal because he was ill advised in my opinion. I want to get him a good attorney and get his case back in court hopefully get him a reduced sentence or robbery 2nd.
