Dothan, AL asked in Animal / Dog Law for Alabama

Q: A "friend" agreed to take care of our dog a couple weeks and refuses to let me get her back

We agreed that he would take care of her a couple weeks and then I would come get her. My best friend, our 3 kids, and myself dropped him and our dog off. He reassured me that he would take good care of her and I ensured him we would stay in touch to check on her. I did call and we texted on regular basis to check on our dog and so I could tell her I love and miss her. He always assured me she was fine and then he lied and said he was out minutes but he just changed his number. He lied to people there saying I gave him my dog. I even went by the residence of his parents to find him and was told he was not there. Our family and kids want our furry family member home. What can I do

A: If it's your dog, you can see if you can (peacefully!) take him back, or you can sue.
