Q: My uncle passed away in Washington DC how can I get a copy of his will and if he had a person as power of attorney what

Rights does he have if he has not been named the administrator

A: Once a will is probated, it becomes a matter of public record. Contact the Clerk's office in DC to find out whether a will has been submitted for probate yet, and to get a copy of it if so.

POAs are recorded in some instances, but it is possible that there was a valid POA that was not to be recorded at any point. You can ask the Clerk's office about that as well. In any case, the power of a POA ends as soon as the principal (the person who created it) passes away, so that would no longer have any effect.
